A patient presented with a 3 unit bridge, complaining about sensitivity and pain. Clinical examination revealed recession around the abutment or anchor teeth. Probing depths revealed pockets of about 4-5mm and bleeding on probing. The solution would be to remove the bridge and place a single dental implant in the pontic area with single crowns on the abutments or adjacent teeth. The single units would be easier to maintain and clean. The choice of crowns would be zirconium as its equivalent to teeth whitening. The dental implant crown would also use zirconium components. After the consultation the patient referred to me as a cosmetic dentist with functionality.
